Clear and informative

We break down and summarise the latest PFAS news and reports in a clear and easy to understand way. Making PFAS information available to all.

Widely Used

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of manufactured chemicals that have been widely used since the 1940s because of their useful properties, such as thermal stability and their non-stick characteristics.

They Accumulate

PFOA and PFOS have been replaced with other PFAS in recent years. However, a common characteristic of concern for all PFAS is that they accumulate in people, animals, and the environment over time.

There are Thousands

There are now thousands of PFAS, some of which have been more widely used and studied. Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) are two of the most widely studied.

Health Implications

There are well-studied direct links between exposure to “PFAS forever chemicals” as they are commonly known - and a broad range of serious health implications, including but not limited to hormonal disruption, cancers, birth defects, and genetic mutations.
